Yes, it refers to the practice of, when hungover, drinking what one drank the previous evening, in an attempt to cure the hangover.

Sure enough....it means in order to cure your hangover...drink some of what you had the night before....I never could do it though

Yeah, you wake up with a massive hangover and drink what you had last night or a Bloody Mary. Some drink a warm beer but I can't stand that.

Yeah, the drinking/hangover thing. But also a great song by Nazareth!!! Not sure why they call it that though- other than I guess it can also mean revenge
