Go to your library and get a book on grooming dogs. You will need to buy clippers, anyway, and probably scissors, but if you just cut the hair short you shouldn't bee too bad. It's like cutting people's hair but squirmier and more work. Brushing your dog often means you don't need to do as much work...hope that helps.
