Does anyone have detailed instructions on how to give a Yorkie a "Puppy Cut"?

I want to learn how to do this because my 3 month old puppy has not had his rabies shot yet (one more month before we can do that) and they will not groom him until all shots are given. Poor thing can't see with all that hair in his eyes! Anyone, please help so I don't butcher my poor dogs hair. :)

A yorkie really only needs a good brushing and, if desired, pull his "bangs" into a ponytail on top of his head using a cloth covered band or small rubber band. Or, you can trim the bangs short like a human.

Tipping the ears is a must to help them stand up. Clip the hair on the ears about 1/4 of the way down the ear leather , up to the tip. Do this on both sides, be careful NOT to cut the ear leather.

Clean out the hair in the ears by "plucking" it.

Trim the pads and between the pads, clean around the potty track so he/she doesn't get their waste all over them. Trim the nails.

Yorkies are long haired dogs and require daily grooming (brushing and combing) to keep their coats shiny and soft. A bath once every two weeks is sometimes appropriate. Be sure and use a gentle shampoo so as not to dry out the skin, and be sure not to get any in the eyes as it will burn them and blister them.

I would just trim the eye brows for now. puppy cuts are usually shave downs and are not good in all circumstances. dogs use their fur to regulate body temp.

Just buy a dog hair clipper because human clippers are not the same, Dog clippers cost around 20 to 30 dollars it all depends.

As long as you have the "age appropriate" shots for your pet, you can take your dog to Petco. They do not require the rabies shot until 4 months. As far as a puppy cut..........as long as your dog isn't matted, he just needs his eyes "scooped", paws trimmed, and a sanitary done. That should really be all that is done at first just to introduce your pet to grooming.
