Why does a dog's hair smell way better dry than wet, and a human's hair smells way better

....their hair is different in construction than ours....have you ever noticed how your dog can be outside for just a few minutes , and come in smelling like the out of doors, and not in a good way?The smell retained by their hair goes away fairly quickly.Thankfully , we do not share this attribute. When you wash your dog.....which is probably not that often....it probably releases all that built up smell residue. If you shampood "Rover" every day like ourselves, or even way more often, there might be more negligable difference. However, I beleive many dogs have a tendency to get dry skin easily, so keep that in mind.I don't know how most people smell , out of the shower, and don't want to...LOL......but maybe some coconut dog shampoo would be in order......I use "groomer's" dog cologne sometimes on my dog's derrier (as he hates the smell)....now why they like to roll around on a dead catfish? .......that's a good smell....desirable to attract the ladies , in the dog world.....LOL.......

We have better smelling shampoos

It's all about the shampoo!

Also - humans *usually* wash their hair a whole lot more often than dogs get theirs washed - therefore, we don't have as much dirt and smelly stuff built up in ours that stinks when wet.

I think some people with wet hair smell like wet dogs. My dogs don't smell when i give them baths. Maybe it could be because they get bathed often, have good smelling dog shampoo, and are house dogs.
