What is something you can use to make your dog's hair shinier?

Hi. I have a nine month old rottweiler and I was wondering, what is something I can use to make his hair shinier. Shampoos, food, vitamins, etc. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Add a teaspoon of oil to their food in the morning. The dogs love it, and you will quickly see a difference in the coat. No problems with salmonela, either. We use plain old vegatable oil. It sounds disgusting, but the dogs love it.

After I give my dog a bath I use a spray conditioner on him and it works great. I also give him vitamins sometimes. You can get the spray at any pet store.

eggs are the answer. feed your dog egg yolks, not scambled eggs but go crack an egg in a bowl mix in a bit of milk and do that every day. but dont give it a bunch at ont time, maybe five times a week

Apply cod liver oil, 1 tsp for each cup of food. This will produce a shinny coat naturally. Don't use shampoos or other products. They will only cause greasy results. A good quality food can produce a nice shinny coat. Eukanuba is a good food. Both of my Border Collies are on Eukanuba and they have very healthy and shinny coats.

Do not feed you dog RAW EGGS. There are enzimes in raw eggs that a dog can not digest. This can cause serious problems if you feed them too much. Cooked Eggs are ok.

We used to have Great Danes, Laboradors, Pomeranians, etc...

The vet told us to put eggs in their food. Maybe one mixed in. With our great dane we put cottage cheese and yogurt in her food. This was because they need extra calcium for their bones. But I would try the egg or oil. But don't use to much otherwise you'll have a really fat dog. Also, I would recommend feeding your dog Pedigree or Science Diet. That Alpo and other dog foods are not good and can make their teeth rot (like our pomerian's did before we got her from this guy). If I would you I would try it. But don't give your dog table food like meat, and other things, because anything that is given to much in the way of people food can make your animal huge.

Hope this helps!

I have an American bulldog who was a rescue from the streets. His coat was mess - dull, thinned out, etc. I gave him plain sardines mixed in with his food once a day and that made a difference in his coat. His coat became shiney, thick and healthy. He is a beautiful healthy muscular dog now. You can try that and maybe it will work for your dog. It's important to feed your dog a premium good quality dog food also. We also gave him a cap full of vegetable oil mixed in his food too. That cut down on shedding.

You can buy Salmon oil online or at a pet store. It's very good for the skin and coat as it's full of Omega 3 fatty acids. I have a black dog with a super shiny coat and he gets Salmon oil on his high quality, human grade food daily.
