How do you brush your dog's hair?

Like what they do at the groomers?

That depends entirely on what type of coat the dog has.

If it a short coat, a good brushing with a soft bristle brush(with the hair...head toward tail and downward on the sides) should do nicely.

If it is a medium to long coat, a rounded wire dog brush is needed to help detangle and smooth the coat.

For dogs with multi layered coats, you will need a shedding comb (looks like a miniture garden rake) to help pull out the loose hair while it is being shed.

Daily grooming is a must for ALL dogs as it helps pull the oils into the fur and helps to prevent dry skin and matting.

Just with a flea comb and a cleaner brush to smooth and get out loose hair.

If you ask, most groomers will be willing to show you proper brushing techniques when you bring your dog in. They'd rather groom a dog whose coat is properly maintained than one that's all matted.
