I would sweep and brush daily. it's not a good idea to bathe them too much as it will wash the oils off their cots that they need. My yellow lab sheds a lot more than my black one. Good luck!

All dogs shed and the best thing to start is to buy a good dog brush %26amp; brush your dog everyday for a little while (since he is big) take him to groomers if you can they will have some advice %26amp; know what products are good....but if you are on a tight budget try 'brushing' him regularly first.....i do not think soap is the problem...unless it some form of allergy...check his skin that there are no marks or fleas bites that have infected his coat. But if all seems normal %26amp; if it is truly 'just shedding' trying the regular brushing routine...good luck.

look at the food you are feeding! get her on a good quality holistic food. add omega 3 %26amp; 6 fatty acids such as flaxseed oil

All dogs shed during the summer, the best thing you can do is spend some time brushing him.

are you brushing your dog regularly? like every day? if not try to start. when i brush my dog (she sheds ALOT) i normally brush backwards (when her hair sticks up) for a while then forwards for a while. then i pet her and try to get all the extra hair off. after that just play with her outside so she shakes and gets more hair off. if that doesnt work also tyr asking the guy who works at a pet store and ask him what kind of soap to buy.

you will just have to commit more time each day to brush him.there is a product called shed end or shed stop.not sure of exact name but i have seen it in the tractor supply store and other pet supply stores.i think it a vitaman supplament it had a picture of a welch corgi on the label. i have corgi`s and boy you should see one of them shed. never used it so cannot tell you if it works.

Pick up a broom and sweep the patio - then brush your dog daily.

Soap won't help, this could be from a number of causes, dietary changes, change in weather or season, stress, any of those apply?

Ok, how long have you had him/her? It could just be nerves. Not all dogs shed alot. My two year old yellow lab retriever hardly sheds because she has a balanced diet and it brushed every other evening. So, it could be nerves or the diet. Labs should be fed only 3 to 4 cups of food once or twice day. its alot if you think about it. so that could be the problem. Atleast thats what my vet said... She shed alot when we first adopted her.

soap will not stop the shedding only a good brush out will do the trick, use a rubber horse curry comb- against the grain of the hair unless its caused by diet then youy need to search for anouther food. from a groomer with 15 yrs experience

You need to brush your dog! This will cut down on the shedding a great deal. Just because hes a short hair doesnt mean he doesnt need to be brushed.
