I love them to death but they shed like mad! Everyone tells me to buy a Dyson but the people who have don't have one except one person! That person doesn't have pets either! So, please, put my mind to ease, which is the best vacuum to get up the ungodly amount of dog hair I have in my house for the money????

They were just on the Today show this morning with the Consumer Reports tested best buy for dog hair which is a kenmore upright. It performed better than the Dyson, Hoover and Eureka for those of us who find our home has enough dog hair to knit sweaters. It is the next vacuum I plan to get.

I have found the best to be the Dyson Animal. My German Shepherd is long haired and she continually moults. The Animal lifts every last scrap of fur and you don't have to keep going over and over the same spot.
