The hair seems to just stick in the sofa no matter what I do

and there is tons of it

First vacuum up as much of the hair as you can. Then use damp rubber gloves and run your hands over the couch. Repeat until all of the hair is gone.

Note: Be sure you follow the nap (or grain) of the fabric, because when the fabric dries it will dry in the direction that you rubbed it and stay 'ruffed up'. So make sure that you have the nap laying down (smooth) when it dries.

get one of those special brushes

that have velvet on them

and it will pick up all the hair

Just learn to live with it. Keep a brush handy for guests when they get off the couch. If they don't like it, they don't have to come over. Bulldogs rule!

Try a lint roller. Its sticky tape on a roll. It is designed not to leave glue residue of fabric. Some ordinary tape might leave glue.
